tonys logo17 October 2015 - History Evening date correction and Coffee Mornings
Good evening everyone,

Just to demonstrate  my comprehensive knowledge of what is going on, Bill Egerton has returned from foreign parts to tell me that the date I gave you for the History Evening Presentation was incorrect!

Freddie Litschi's slides are actually going to be shown on Wednesday 28th October in the Mission Hall at 7.30 pm. My apologies for that, but the event will still be as interesting, showing Freddie's unique pictures taken over the years. Do come along to see Sutton Poyntz as it was, and to hear about the personalities and events on display. You might be able to add some comments of your own, all of which will be a valuable addition to the historical record of our lovely old village.

As a follow on to my problem with dates, I missed the first winter coffee morning because I hadn't put the date in my diary! However I will be at the second one, on Friday 6 November in the Mission Hall  between 10.30 am and Noon when Neighbourhood Watch will be the theme, organised by Peter Jones with PC Clive Joyner in attendance. Future coffee mornings are on

4 December, when Simon and Dot Emblen will be displaying some of the interesting finds dug up in their garden

then 8 January (avoiding 1 January, New Years Day) when a representative of the new Portland Jurassic Project will be coming along.

5 February and 4 March are the last two

The coffee mornings are always a good chance learn something new, to catch up on what old friends have been doing and enjoy a cup of coffee and delicious cake. The cost is still only £1.50, but enjoy this while you can, for it may rise in the New Year.

 Regards

Chris
