tonys logo5 March 2017 - Scouts need help, and news of defibrillator

Hi everyone,

1. Mo Martin tells me that the Weymouth East Scout Group Spring Jumble Sale will be taking place on Saturday 25 March at 2 pm in the Scutt Hall. This is one of the major fund raising events of the year and the money raised goes to the Scutt Hall funds for the benefit of all the youngsters who use the Hall. Mo says that jumble is required - that's clothes, books, bric-a-brac or anything saleable - so if you can help, please take anything you have to the Scutt Hall or ring Mo on 836322. You can also call 832614 or any leader. Some help might be needed with sorting the jumble the day before, or on the day itself. Again Mo has details. The Hall is used throughout the year by many groups of our youngsters, so any assistance will be gratefully received.

 2. You will know from the Newsletter that Jez Cunningham has obtained a defibrillator for the village. He has been hard at work since, and the news is that the machine will be located at the Springhead, who are very kindly arranging to have it installed by their electrician on the left hand outside wall of the pub. Before this takes place the defib will be kept inside the pub and released on demand. Simon Allison, our local Ambulance First Responder,  will be carrying out training for villagers one afternoon and evening in the Mission Hall in April.  He will also do a session for the entire Springhead staff, and for the Scouts and others in the Scutt Hall.  Watch out for these dates in future Newsbites. Thanks are due to everyone who is helping to make this possible, Jez of course, the Springhead management/staff and Simon. Well done.

 Regards

Chris
