tonys logo 24 February 2019 - Village clean up of the pond
Dear all,
As you are no doubt aware, a great deal of work has been commissioned in and around the pond recently, and to my eye everything looks much tidier and more attractive than before. Thanks are due to the hard working members of the SP Soc Committee for planning this activity.
However, for the final stage your pond needs YOU.

Before the ducks and moorhens begin nesting, the village cleanup of the Pond will take place this coming Saturday, 2 March at 9 am. Jon Waterman is in the driving seat for this - literally, as he will be using his Landrover to take away the pond debris - so seek him out for advice on what needs doing when you arrive. The focus will be on raking debris off the bottom of the middle-third of the pond, and tidying around the edges. This means that, unlike past years, no boat activity is needed. Peter Riley has generously volunteered his field as the resting place for the pond detritus .

Please let Jon know if you intend to help on Saturday,( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and if possible bring a rake, secateurs and/or a wheelbarrow. He needs to know numbers so he can tell Karen, who has once again very generously offered complimentary teas, coffees and bacon rolls at the Springhead to all volunteers. Now if that isn't an incentive, I don't know what is. See you on the day.

Regards
Chris
