Are you getting ready for the spectacular Sutton Poyntz Vegetable Show? We hope so!
We're going to make some minor changes this year, deleting some classes where we had few entries and adding some new ones.
Here are the categories for this year's event (29th July 2023):
To be measured:
- 'Spud-in-a-tub'
- Longest runner bean
- Heaviest marrow
To be decided by popular vote:
- Selection of herbs
- 3 carrots
- 3 tomatoes
- 3 courgettes
- 3 beans
- 3 onions

5 soft fruit
- 1 lettuce
- Bunch of flowers
- Wonkiest fruit or veg
- Anything else you've grown
To be judged by tasting panel (whose identity will be kept secret to avoid bribery and corruption):
- Home-made Victoria sponge cake
- Home-made cup-cake(s)
- Home-made jam
- Home-made pickle
And... there will be a vote for the best Scarecrow!
