1 tonys logoMay 2015 - E-Update - Nepal lunch
Dear friends,

Richard Backwell has asked for the following to be passed on:

On behalf of the Okhle Village Trust, Judith and Richard would like to thank the villagers of Sutton Poyntz for supporting us so generously at the Drop In Soup event. The help and kindness shown was a great credit to the village.

Bimal Gurung phoned me later in the day from Kathmandu to report that there were 4 houses in Okhle and one in Raipali which needed rebuilding.

The sum of £4082 which was raised at yesterday's event will enable the Trust to rebuild the houses, and I hope to see the completion of this work when I go out in November.

Judith and I and all the villages we are helping are so grateful for your support. None of the water projects or schools we have been involved with have been affected.

With thanks, Richard Backwell.

On everyone's behalf, can I add thanks to Richard and Judy in particular, and to all the people who helped with the organisation, food, setting up, serving, washing up, music etc. etc. I find it amazing how such an event can come together at such short notice - greatly enjoyable, hugely worthwhile, and an enormous success. Thank you all for your wonderful efforts, blessed by such a lovely day. A few photos below, to remind you of the event.

Best wishes,
Bill Egerton
