Dear all,

Not the Last of the Summer Wine, but definitely the last of the Summer series of Coffee Mornings is being held this coming Friday, 1 September in the Mission Hall between 10.30 am and noon. Last time the money collected went to Kartability, and Mark and Chickee (sorry, I only know his nickname) came along to describe how they adapt go-karts for disabled and partially sighted children and adults to experience the thrills of go kart racing. The next collection is also going to an excellent charity, whose name I carefully wrote down, then lost! I would ask Maureen, but I'm afraid she will ban me for being so careless, so I'm going to sneak in disguised. The cost as ever is only £2/person, which includes the usual excellent refreshments, so do go along and see the summer out in fine style. I'll be there, but you might not recognise me.

Mo and Dave Martin have once again generously offered their time to organise the Weymouth East Scout & Guide Jumble Sale, which is one of the major annual fundraising events supporting our local youngsters. This will be held in the Scutt Hall on Saturday 28 October, which may seem a good way off, but there is, of course, an excellent reason for the advance notice. They desperately need good quality items that they can sell and it is never too early to think about collecting them. If you already have anything that they could sell - clothes, bric-a-brac, books etc - or are likely to be turning out such items in the near future, or know anyone who is, please contact Mo/Dave on 836322.

 Regards

Chris
