Open Gardens logo28 February 2023 - Open Gardens - and Scarecrows!

Spring is around the corner and minds are turning to gardens especially to those wonderful people who are opening theirs for our fund-raising event on June 17 - 18.  So far we have 20 gardens opening but it is not too late to join in. Please think about it. No one is expecting a Chelsea show garden; it's the variety that counts and we are always amazed at the beauty of you talented folk with green fingers!
This is a chance for us to show off our beautiful village – Sutton Poyntz Has Talent!
And here's a thought for you: if you are splitting plants or sowing seeds, could you contribute some spares to the plant stall at the Open Gardens weekend?

The scarecrows are back!
To complement the Open Gardens event this summer, villagers are invited to display a scarecrow on the theme of “an English summer garden”. It would be wonderful if as many people as possible could demonstrate their creativity and produce a masterpiece for their front garden. This is not a competition and is not limited to those opening their gardens, but a bit a fun to run alongside the gardens event. I intend to get my grandchildren involved in the fun! The scarecrow display will run from 5 June until 1 July and details are to follow.
